Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company operating that feature. The provider processes the query and supplies its response. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be retained so our team can respond and keep the related correspondence. We do not disclose that message beyond our organization unless the law requires disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a visitor loads a page, the server can automatically receive technical and activity details such as:
- Page-view dates and times
- The referring website, when one is reported
- Browser name and version
- Device category and operating system
- The device's assigned IP address
- Pages viewed and the time spent on them
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services help us measure aggregate use, including popular pages and points where visits end. A browser can be configured to refuse cookies, although blocking them may change how some features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Sending a search query to the provider that operates the selected tool
- Maintaining reliable site operation and page speed
- Finding, diagnosing, and repairing technical faults
- Measuring which pages visitors use
- Displaying advertisements that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not create, keep, or sell a database of personal criminal-history records. The site explains how to approach the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, County Court and District Court, the Nebraska State Patrol Criminal Identification Division, and the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a third-party criminal record, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Independent companies power the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention schedules, and sharing rules apply to information submitted through a tool. We do not control those practices, so visitors should read the provider's policy before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Wayne County offices, Nebraska court and agency portals, legal-aid resources, or private services. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy controls that visit. Review it before providing personal information.
Some advertising companies may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads. We do not operate that cross-site tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. It may nevertheless be received by:
- Government or law enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
- Advertising networks that serve ads on the pages
- Search providers processing queries submitted to their tools
- Analytics vendors measuring site traffic and performance
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for information we collect. No internet-connected service can guarantee perfect security, however, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such information, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Rights can vary by residence. Nebraska Public Records Statutes, Neb. Rev. Stat. §§84-712 through 84-712.09, govern access to records held by Nebraska public bodies. Criminal-history dissemination is separately limited by Neb. Rev. Stat. §29-3523. Those laws apply to the relevant government custodians, while requests about data this private site holds may include the following:
- Opting out of certain processing where that choice is available
- Requesting deletion of personal data we retain
- Asking us to correct inaccurate personal information
- Requesting a copy of personal data kept about you
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised from time to time. A revision becomes available on this page with an updated effective date, so visitors can review the terms that then govern our handling of information.
